Horizn M5 Nasa Edition

In The Wild?

Our In The Wild series is all about going into the cool products and brands that we don't yet offer on our site or just doesn't fit with what we aim to curate. Nevertheless, the products chosen for this series is still really cool and we want one. Or two. Or three...

Out of this world...and also out of stock.

The first of our In The Wild series, we take a look at the Horizn Studios M5 Nasa Edition.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, Horizn Studios worked closely with Alyssa Carson to design an extremely limited NASA edition cabin luggage. With one set aside to be auctioned for charity at the US Space and Rocket Centre's 50th Anniversary Ceremony to help underprivileged children with scholarships, the rest are now sold out on their website.

Who is Alyssa Carson and PoSSUM?

Project PoSSUM is a NASA backed international space program dedicated to the study of Earths uppermost atmosphere. When broken down, PoSSUM stands for Polar Suborbital Science in the Upper Mesosphere (PoSSUM) Academy. They're in works to develop the Final Frontier Space Suit Design, EVA.

"I loved working on something that would inspire the next generation of travelers to push their boundaries."

At only 16 years old, Alyssa Carson became the youngest person to have ever graduated from the Advanced Space Academy. Not only that, she's the first person to have completed all of NASA’s seven Space Camps and received the certification in applied astronautics. In simple terms, it means that Carson is certified to do a suborbital flight and venture into space before even getting her driver's permit. How's that for life goals?

First Luggage for Space Travel

Horizn Studios is also working with Carson to design luggage just for space travel dubbed the "Horizn ONE." Their goal is to create a piece of luggage to meet astronauts’ needs and spaceship requirements. It’ll feature ground-breaking concepts and materials such as a graphene-enhanced carbon-fiber structure, electromagnetic base, biometric security, smart screens, and bacteriostatic technology. This space luggage concept is expected to retail for over €40,000 EUR (approximately $50,000 USD).
